Who decides what happens?Because most of the 169 hectare site is in Mansfield district, Mansfield District Council is the local planning authority for Lindhurst. |
Have Your SayMore than 40,000 households were invited to a public exhibition in November and we have attended community meetings throughout December and January to give people a chance to comment. The illustrative masterplan has been changed significantly as a result. If you like what you've seen here, you can still make your views count. Your support matters. Send a letter to Mansfield District Council planners. Or email them directly by visiting their website. If you want to contact the Lindhurst Group, please send us an email. |

The council has been considering the need for Sustainable Urban Extensions - developments at a town's edge which extend the town and demonstrate best practice in sustainable urban growth. Consultation took place in 2009 and the council resolved to develop the idea through its local development planning process. The council has also worked closely with neighbouring councils in the Sherwood Growth Zone Partnership to ensure that the whole area's needs are met in a coordinated way. |
The council has named land south of the town along the MARR as having the most potential to meet the need for growth. Lindhurst is designed to make the most of that opportunity. Now the Group has submitted the Lindhurst planning application, it is up to Mansfield District Council to consider whether the scheme meets its strategic needs and objectives. |
